We happened upon the Annual Celebration at the Columbia Restaurant in St Augustine. The prices were rolled WAY back some said to 1905 but maybe 1950s pricing. A multi-award winning restaurant *** and the bill was $9.96 plus tip... wine, tea, bread and butter, soups, huge main courses. The food was excellent.

Spanish Bean Soup
The soup that made the Columbia famous. The original recipe of Casimiro Hernandez, Sr. Garbanzo beans simmered with smoked ham, chorizo sausage and potatoes in a delicious broth of chicken and ham.
Boliche "Criollo" $2.95
Roasted Eye round of beef stuffed with chorizo and roasted in flavorful gravy. Served with black beans, white rice and platanos.
Merluza "RussianStyle" $2.95
Created in the 1930s by Columbia's famed chef Francisco Pijuan. A delicate white fish, lightly seasoned with Cuban bread crumbs. Grilled and topped with lemon butter, chopped parsley and egg.
